The brief
CCWS created a 3,875 sq ft workplace for Compass Box Whisky on the third floor of 3 Water Lane, Richmond — bringing focused work, meetings, blending, tasting, product and hospitality into one richly layered home.
Compass Box needed more than a conventional office. The workplace had to support everyday business activity while making room for the culture of whisky: tasting, blending, product display, storytelling and hosting.
The challenge was to combine practical work settings with a strong sense of place. It needed to feel considered and premium without becoming formal, and characterful without turning into a themed backdrop.

The response
Compass Box gained a workplace that can host a quiet working day, a collaborative session or a room full of visitors without losing its identity.
It is a strong example of CCWS designing around the client rather than importing a standard office formula — a London workplace with genuine spirit.
