The brief

We gave the existing office a fresh new look and reworked the layout to accommodate 80 desks, create more privacy for teams needing focused work, and make the reception, meeting and breakout spaces more welcoming. Existing furniture and kitchen components were reused wherever practical.

The response

The new layout gave the growing team the space they needed, incorporating 55 desks from their previous office alongside additional workstations and a new two-person office for the CEOs.

Removing three existing meeting room partitions opened up the floor, making room for the revised layout. Storage and planting helped define more private areas within the open-plan space.

New carpet, warmer wall colours, black finishes on feature storage and desk legs, and re-stained doors brought the space together. Timber features in reception and the meeting rooms added warmth and complemented the new finishes.

The kitchen was updated with new flooring, splashback tiles, a sink, a tap and breakout furniture, retaining the existing carcasses where practical. A new integrated fridge was installed alongside the client’s existing freestanding drinks fridge, while a separate boiling-water and filtered-water tap helped keep the main sink free during busy periods.

In reception, we refurbished the existing desk, redecorated and added new furniture to create a welcoming first impression. Three new meeting rooms and a boardroom gave the team a choice of spaces to meet and work together.
